As the vital link between new members and the Chamber, Ambassadors work with new members to ensure they get the most out of their Fairfax County Chamber membership.

The Ambassadors are a crucial part of the Chamber’s member relations and retention efforts.

They are experienced and active members of the Chamber that guide new members in their efforts to network within the organization by steering them to the committees, events and activities that will help them meet their specific business needs.

Soon after joining the Chamber, new members are assigned an Ambassador who will:

  • Serve as their mentor.
  • Contact them at least 4 times throughout their first eight months of membership.
  • Inform them about Chamber activities.
  • Answer their questions about the Chamber.
  • Meet them at Chamber events to ensure their involvement and participation–the key to member satisfaction.

Ambassadors are members of theFairfax County Chamber of Commerce who have volunteered their time to serve as mentors to new members. Each month, the Chamber recognizes an Ambassador who has gone above and beyond the call of duty.

These hard-working Chamber volunteers provide an invaluable service, guiding new members through the early months of their membership to help them learn about and get engaged in those Chamber programs and services that will enable them to gain the maximum return on their membership investment.

Ambassadors are easily identified at events by the blue ribbons on their nametags In addition to being visible at various Chamber events, the Ambassadors Committee holds a complimentary wine and cheese reception every other month at the office of the Fairfax County Chamber. Ambassadors are encouraged to invite their new member contacts to meet other Ambassadors, as well as new, existing and prospective Chamber members.

Ambassador of the month:

The Ambassador of the Month is Amy Smith, Apex Home Mortgage, Inc.

Every month, we recognize an Ambassador who has demonstrated exemplary performance in serving their protégé members and the Chamber family. As the vital link between new members and the Chamber, Ambassadors work with new members to ensure they get the most out of their Fairfax County Chamber membership.

In addition to her regular duties as an Ambassador, Amy is a team captain for the Ambassadors committee and served as a Vice Chair for the Power of Partnership II campaign.

Apex Home Loans provides residential home mortgages in DC, MD, VA, and DE. They are locally owned and operated and were recently ranked # 21 by the Washington Business Journal in the category of “Top Area Mortgage Lenders.”
