Calendar of Events

PolicyMakers: The Fairfax Chamber's event series that places business leaders at the door steps of lawmakers at the local, state and federal levels. Throughout the year the Advocacy Department will event Legislators for a breakfast where members can sit and discuss issues that are of interest to themselves and their businesses. In the past, the Chamber has sat down with Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, Gerry Connolly; VA Senate Transportation Chairman, Marty Williams; and Congressman James P. Moran.
Issues Fairfax: In April, the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce will co-host the premier community forum: Issues Fairfax. This is an exciting time for Fairfax County. This forum will bring together a broad cross section of over two hundred stakeholders from our county’s business, government, community, and non-profit sectors to engage in a day-long symposium about market-based and public policy strategies for addressing the issues. The dais will explore the challenges and “real time” strategies businesses can use to impact their organizations. Date, time and location to be announced. By invitation only

Annual Political Debate: Continuing its tradition of presenting Northern Virginia’s premier political event, the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce hosted the “Chairman for Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Debate” with Gerry Connolly and Gary Baise before an audience of Virginia’s business and political elite.
In the Grand Ballroom of the Westin Tysons Corner, respected journalist and CBS’s 9NewsNOW Derek McGinty moderated the hour-long engagement. He was joined on stage by a panel of three award winning-journalists: Bruce Alan of WTOP; Steve Cahill, Editor of the Times Community Newspapers; and Beverly Kirk of NewsChannel 8. |

NOVABizPAC and the Fairfax County Chamber host an Annual Holiday Reception: The Fairfax County Chamber and NOVABizPAC will host their annual Holiday Reception in December to thank all sponsors and contributors for their support for the 2007 year. A special tribute will also be made to Supervisor Elaine McConnell for her public service in Fairfax County for the past 24 years. The Fairfax County Chamber will again be supporting the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots Program at the reception. Please show your support by bringing a new unwrapped toy for needy children. Fairfax Chamber's Legislative Reception: Every General Assembly session the Fairfax Chamber will host a reception in Richmond for members to network with lawmakers from all across the state. This past session the reception was hosted by Base Technologies at the popular Havana '59 entitled, Mojitos and Cigars. Over 150 members and/or staff attended.
